You can even clear away some of the actual metal with some re-engineering and cross-bracing. I have so many ideas up my sleeve for this project that I'm going to keep to myself until I can some day fulfill it, but there's an old post I made a couple years ago for some real easy weight reduction modifications. A slicktop can be a really fierce competitor with boost and weight reduction, I almost liken it to a Porsche 928 but with proven japanese reliability, better aerodynamics, the fun and drama of handling a turbocharged engine and the smiles/dollar that a european car can only dream of.
